Eugene Sepulveda

CEO

Eugene Sepulveda is CEO of the Entrepreneurs Foundation, a director for Capital Factory and a senior advisor to Austin Mayor Steve Adler. He served as the President & CEO of Marfa Public Radio and it's affiliate, KXWT in Midland-Odessa. Eugene brings 30 years experience from banking, high tech startups and higher education to his role at the Entrepreneurs Foundation. Eugene is the current vice chair for federal relations at the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce, on the boards of the KDK-Harman Foundation, Bazaarvoice Foundation, the Entrepreneurs Foundation, Marfa Public Radio, the McDonald Observatory's (board of visitors) and chairman emeritus for PeopleFund. Eugene previously taught social entrepreneurship & global business at UT's McCombs School of Business, served as CFO for an Austin-based semiconductor startup, and was senior vice president lending and international business for two major Austin banks.

Mr. Sepulveda held earlier volunteer leadership roles included serving as President Obama's LGBT Leadership Council co-chair, as co-chair of the DNC's LGBT Council, as treasurer and finance co-chair for Mayor Steve Adler's Election Campaign as well as on the boards of the Austin Community Foundation, Leadership Austin (chair), the Austin-Travis County HIV Commission (chair), Austin Museum of Art (acting Exec. Dir. & treasurer), and LiveableCity (founding board member). He has been recognized as the Best Austin Booster (Austin Chronicle), Best Professor (Alpha Kappa Psi), as a nominee for Outstanding Elective Professor (UT MBA), the Human Rights Campaign’s Lifetime Achievement Award, the HRC Bettie Naylor Visibility Award, honoree by the Mex Net Alliance, an Austin Under Forty award winner, the Austin Business Journal Heavy Hitter in Finance and honored by the Austin City Council by the declaration of a Eugene Sepulveda Day in 1994 and Eugene Sepulveda & Steven Tomlinson Day in February 2015.

He and his husband, Dr. Steven Robert Tomlinson, are members of St. James Episcopal Church, support several community initiatives and the arts through their fund, ABPorter, and most enjoy spending time with their six nieces & nephews, parents & 11 godchildren.
